Scripture Reading
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Devotional Reflection
Yesterday we heard Christ tell us not to be consumed by worry.
Today He invites us to look at something very simple.
Birds.
In the middle of His teaching about anxiety, Jesus directs our attention to the natural world.
Because sometimes creation teaches trust better than arguments.
The birds don’t store wealth.
They don’t control the future.
Yet they are sustained.
Jesus is not telling us to abandon responsibility.
He is reminding us that provision ultimately comes from God.
The same Creator who feeds the birds has not forgotten His children.
Anxiety often grows from imagining a future we can’t control.
But God’s care is experienced one day at a time.
Daily bread.
Daily strength.
Daily mercy.
This is why Christ later teaches us to pray:
“Give us this day our daily bread.”
Today, notice the quiet ways God sustains your life.
The food on your table.
The breath in your lungs.
The relationships around you.
Trust grows when gratitude grows.
Closing Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Open my eyes to the ways You care for me.
When anxiety rises, remind me of Your faithfulness.
Teach me to trust You day by day.
Just as You care for the birds of the air, care for my heart today.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,
Amen.
