Scripture Reading
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Devotional Reflection
After speaking about worry, provision, and trust, Jesus gives us a single guiding principle for life.
One sentence.
One priority.
One orientation for the heart.
If we understand this teaching, the rest of life begins to fall into place.
Jesus doesn’t say that food, clothing, or daily needs will disappear.
Instead, He tells us how to reorder them.
Seek the kingdom first.
When God becomes the center, everything else moves into its proper place.
Without that center, life becomes scattered.
With it, life gains direction.
The question is simple but searching:
What comes first in my life?
My plans?
My fears?
My ambitions?
Or the kingdom of God?
Lent gives us space to reorder these priorities.
Closing Prayer
Lord,
Teach me to seek Your kingdom above all else.
Reorder my priorities.
Quiet my anxieties.
And help me trust that when I pursue Your righteousness, You will provide what I truly need.
Let my life reflect Your kingdom more clearly each day.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,
Amen.
