The message of Christ is spreading.
Believers are sharing the good news.
Lives are being changed.
A new community is taking shape.
But Scripture makes something important clear.
The growth is not the result of human effort alone.
The words are spoken by ordinary people.
Yet something greater is at work.
And Luke explains it with a simple phrase.
The hand of the Lord was with them.
Scripture Reading
21 And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number believed, and turned unto the Lord.
Devotional Reflection
The believers were faithful.
They spoke.
They served.
They obeyed.
But the true source of their fruitfulness was God.
His presence.
His power.
His blessing.
This is deeply reassuring.
We are called to be faithful.
But the results don’t rest on our shoulders alone.
God’s hand accomplishes what our strength cannot.
There is a difference between working hard and working with God.
We can strive, plan, and labor diligently.
But when the hand of the Lord is with us, our efforts are infused with grace.
Conversations carry unexpected depth.
Simple acts bear lasting fruit.
Doors open that we could never open ourselves.
The same task feels different when God’s presence rests upon it.
Today, bring your efforts before the Lord.
Your work.
Your relationships.
Your responsibilities.
Your hopes.
Do what’s yours to do.
But ask God to place His hand upon it.
Because even ordinary tasks become sacred when His presence is there.
Closing Prayer
Lord,
Thank You that I do not labor alone.
You invite me to be faithful, but You remain the source of every lasting result.
Place Your hand upon my work today.
Bless my words, my decisions, and the responsibilities before me.
Where I feel inadequate, remind me that Your strength is enough.
Where I feel discouraged, renew my hope.
Where I am tempted to rely only on myself, teach me to depend on You.
Let Your presence shape what I do, and let Your grace accomplish what my own effort cannot.
Because when Your hand is with me, ordinary moments become part of Your greater work.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
