Episode 129

While Peter Yet Spake

Acts 10:44 · 2026-05-19

God often moves in the middle of our unfinished stories, reminding us that His grace does not wait for perfect conditions.

Peter is still speaking.

He’s explaining the Gospel.

He’s sharing what he has come to understand.

And even as the words are being spoken, something extraordinary happens.

God does not wait for a formal conclusion.

He doesn’t wait until everything feels orderly and complete.

The Holy Spirit moves in the middle of the message.

And in that moment, everyone present sees a profound truth:

When hearts are open, God is already at work.

Scripture Reading

44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.

Devotional Reflection

Peter is still learning.

The listeners are still receiving.

The process is still unfolding.

And yet, God acts.

This is deeply comforting.

We sometimes imagine that everything must be perfectly arranged before grace can move.

But God is not limited by our timing.

He often works before we feel ready,

before we finish explaining,

and before we can fully comprehend what He is doing.

Many of life’s important changes happen in the middle.

In the middle of a prayer.

In the middle of uncertainty.

In the middle of understanding.

We may be waiting for a dramatic finish line.

But God often meets us before we arrive there.

His presence doesn’t depend on perfect conditions.

He’s active even while the story is still unfolding.

Today, if you feel unfinished, take heart.

You may still be learning.

Still healing.

Still waiting.

And God may already be at work.

Don’t assume that grace is delayed until everything is resolved.

Remain open.

Listen.

Trust that God is moving, even now.

Closing Prayer

Lord,

Thank You that You are at work even while my story is still unfolding.

That I don’t need to have everything resolved before Your grace begins to move.

When I feel unfinished, remind me that You are already present.

When I’m still learning, continue to teach me.

When I’m still healing, continue to restore me.

When I’m still waiting, help me trust that Your timing is perfect.

Open my heart to receive what You are doing right now.

And teach me to recognize Your presence in the middle of the journey, not only at the end.

Because I know that Your Spirit is always at work, often before I fully understand.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
