Thy Prayers and Thine Alms

Acts 10:4 · 2026-05-16

God remembers every sincere prayer, generous act, and quiet offering of love made in faith.

Yesterday, we met Cornelius.

A devout man.

A generous man.

A man who prayed continually.

His life was marked by quiet faithfulness.

And today, he receives a message from an angel of God that brings extraordinary comfort.

The angel does not tell him that his prayers were unnoticed.

He does not suggest that his generosity was forgotten.

Instead, he says something simple and profound.

God has remembered.

Scripture Reading

4 And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.

Devotional Reflection

There are many acts of faith that seem to disappear into silence.

Prayers whispered in private.

Generosity offered quietly.

Kindness given without recognition.

We may wonder whether any of it matters.

But Scripture answers clearly.

God remembers.

Nothing offered to Him in love is wasted.

Nothing sincere is overlooked.

Much of spiritual life happens unseen.

No audience.

No applause.

No immediate results.

And yet, hidden faithfulness is precious to God.

He sees what others miss.

He remembers what we forget.

And He receives even the smallest offerings made with sincerity.

Keep offering what you can.

Continue in prayer.

Continue in generosity.

Continue in the small acts of love that shape your life.

Even when there is no visible response.

Even when the results seem delayed.

Trust that what is offered to God is received by Him.

And in His time, He will bring forth what is needed.

Closing Prayer

Lord,

Thank You that You see what is done in secret.

You hear the prayers spoken in quiet moments.

You notice the acts of generosity and the simple choices made in love.

When I feel unseen, remind me that I am known by You.

When I wonder whether my efforts matter, assure me that nothing offered in faith is forgotten.

Strengthen me to keep praying, to keep giving, and to keep serving with sincerity and trust.

Let my life become a steady offering— not for recognition, but as a response to Your goodness.

And teach me to rest in the knowledge that You remember every act of love.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
