Scripture Reading
35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.
Devotional Reflection
We’ve been walking alongside Philip on the road.
He obeyed the call to go.
He met a man who was searching.
He heard the question:
“How can I understand?”
And now, we come to the moment
where everything becomes clear.
Because Philip doesn’t offer a complicated explanation.
He doesn’t overwhelm him with ideas.
He does something simple…
and profound.
He points to Jesus.
Philip begins where the man already is.
In the Scriptures.
In the questions.
In the searching.
But he does not stay there.
He leads him to Christ.
Because Scripture is not only information.
It’s revelation.
And its purpose is not simply to be understood—
but to lead us
to the One it reveals.
It’s possible to read, to learn, to search—
and still miss the center.
We can focus on details,
on knowledge,
on understanding ideas.
But the heart of it all is not a concept.
It’s our Savior.
Jesus.
When we lose sight of Him,
everything becomes fragmented.
But when He’s at the center,
everything begins to make sense.
Today, as you read, as you think, as you reflect—
return to Christ.
Not just what He said.
Not just what He did.
But who He is.
Let Him be the center
of your understanding,
your decisions,
your life.
Because when Christ is at the center,
everything else finds its place.
Closing Prayer
Lord,
In the midst of learning,
searching,
and trying to understand,
help me not to lose sight of You.
It is easy to focus on ideas,
details,
and questions—
and forget the One who gives them meaning.
Bring my heart back to the center.
Let everything I read,
everything I learn,
and everything I experience
lead me closer to You.
Teach me to know You—
not only in thought,
but in relationship.
And as I grow in understanding,
let it deepen my love,
my trust,
and my devotion.
Because You are not only the answer—
You are the life I am seeking.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,
Amen.
