Tuesday Transformation

The Nearness of the Dawn

“And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed.”
— Romans 13:11

There’s a moment just before sunrise when everything feels still.

The darkness hasn’t fully lifted.
The light hasn’t fully arrived.

But something has changed.

You can sense it.

The night is ending.

Lent brings us to this moment.

We are no longer at the beginning.
We are not quite at the end.

But we are close.

The Final Stretch

There’s a different kind of awareness that comes in the final stretch of a journey.

We begin to see more clearly.

What once felt distant now feels near.
What once felt optional now feels essential.

The small things matter more.

The distractions become more obvious.
The habits we’ve formed begin to show their weight.

And the question becomes quieter, but sharper:

Have we been paying attention?

What Has Been Formed

Lent isn’t only about what we’ve given up.

It’s about what has been formed within us.

Have we become more patient?
More attentive?
More willing to love?

Or have we simply passed through the season without allowing it to shape us?

This isn’t a question of perfection.

It’s a question of direction.

Are we moving toward Christ —
or simply moving through time?

The Light Is Closer Now

Scripture often speaks of light not only as something we see — but something we move toward.

We walk by it.
We follow it.

And as we do, it grows.

What began as a small flame now feels steadier.
What once flickered now holds.

We may not have noticed it day by day.

But something has been changing.

The heart softens.
The attention deepens.
The distractions lose their hold.

The dawn is closer now than it was before.

This Week’s Invitation

Don’t rush these final days.

Slow down.
Pay attention.

Return to the small things that have carried you this far:

Prayer.
Stillness.
Scripture.
Love.

Not in a hurried way —
but with intention.

Because Lent isn’t just something we complete.

It’s something that prepares us.

Closing Reflection

The light is nearer now.

Not because we’ve earned it.

But because Christ is drawing near.

And as we approach the end of this season, the question is not:

“Did I do enough?”

But:

“Am I ready to receive what is coming?”
