Abide in My Love

John 15:9 (LXX) · 2026-04-19

Love is not only something we offer—it is something we live within. Christ invites us not to strive, but to remain in His love and let everything flow from that place.

Scripture Reading

9 As the Father hath loved Me, so have I loved you: continue ye in My love.

Devotional Reflection

Yesterday, we were asked a question:

“Do you love Me?”

A question that reaches to the center of everything.

But today, Christ gives us something just as important.

Not a question—
but an invitation.

Because love isn’t only something we offer.

It’s something we are meant to live within.

And so, He says:

“Abide in My love.”

We often think of love as a feeling.

Something that comes and goes.

But Christ speaks of it differently.

He speaks of love as a place.

Something we can remain in.
Something we can return to.

Not something we create—
but something we receive.

It’s easy to move quickly from love
into effort.

To think:
“If I love Christ, I need to prove it.”

But Jesus says—remain.

Stay.

Don’t rush ahead.

Don’t turn love into pressure.

Let it be the place you live from.

Because when we remain in His love,
everything else begins to take shape naturally.

Today, when your mind begins to race…
when your heart feels unsettled…

return.

Not to a task.
Not to a plan.

But to His love.

Pause.

Be still.

Remember that you are loved.

And from that place—move forward.

Closing Prayer

Lord,

You do not ask me to earn Your love.

You invite me to remain in it.

And yet, I often move away—
into striving,
into worry,
into trying to prove myself.

Draw me back.

Teach me to rest in Your love—
to receive it fully,
and to remain in it throughout the day.

When I become distracted,
bring me back to that place.

When I begin to strive,
remind me that I am already held.

Let Your love become the foundation
of everything I do.

Not something I visit occasionally,
but something I live within.

And as I remain in You,
shape my heart,
guide my steps,
and lead me forward in peace.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,
Amen.
