Scripture Reading
24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
Devotional Reflection
As we continue through Great Lent, Jesus now brings His teaching to a conclusion.
After speaking about the heart, the eye, the will, and the way we live, He gives us a final image.
Two builders.
Two foundations.
Two outcomes.
And the difference isn’t hearing His words.
It’s doing them.
The storms come either way.
Faith doesn’t remove difficulty.
But it determines stability.
The wise builder doesn’t build quickly.
He builds deeply.
Lent is the season of foundations.
It is possible to hear Scripture daily and still remain unchanged.
The difference is obedience.
Small acts of faithfulness become the stones that form a strong foundation.
Today, choose one teaching of Christ — and live it.
• Forgive.
• Be patient.
• Pray sincerely.
• Speak truth gently.
Each act strengthens the foundation.
Closing Prayer
Lord,
You are the firm foundation that does not fail.
Help me not only to hear Your words, but to live them with faithfulness and humility.
Strengthen what is weak in me, and deepen what is shallow.
When the storms of life come, keep me steady in You.
Teach me to build my life not on convenience or comfort, but on truth and obedience.
Lay each stone of faith within me carefully, that my life may stand firm in every season.
And let my heart rest securely in You, knowing that what is built on You will never be shaken.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,
Amen.
