Scripture Reading
12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
Devotional Reflection
Throughout the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus teaches us how to live with humility, trust, and devotion.
But He also summarizes the heart of God’s law in one simple sentence.
It is often called the Golden Rule.
Yet its simplicity should not hide its power.
The Golden Rule moves beyond intention.
It calls for action.
Treat others not according to how they treat you — but according to how you wish to be treated.
This transforms relationships.
• Mercy replaces resentment.
• Kindness replaces indifference.
When we place ourselves in another person’s position, compassion grows.
We begin to see their struggles more clearly.
We become slower to judge and quicker to help.
This is the heart of Christian love.
Today, practice the Golden Rule deliberately.
Offer patience where you expect impatience.
Offer encouragement where you expect criticism.
Small acts of kindness reflect the kingdom of God.
Closing Prayer
Lord,
Teach me to love others as You have loved me.
Help me see people with compassion rather than judgment.
Give me courage to act with kindness and mercy.
And let my life reflect the love of Your kingdom.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,
Amen.
