Scripture Reading
9 And let us not be weary in well doing:
for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
Devotional Reflection
We are now several days into Great Lent.
The initial motivation may be fading.
• The body feels the fast.
• The mind resists discipline.
• The spirit wavers between resolve and fatigue.
And this is precisely when Scripture speaks gently but firmly:
Do not grow weary.
Weariness is subtle.
It doesn’t shout.
It whispers:
“This isn’t making a difference."
"You’ve already failed."
"You can loosen up.”
But perseverance is rarely loud.
It is choosing, quietly, to continue.
To pray again.
To fast again.
To begin again.
Closing Prayer
Lord,
When I grow weary, steady me.
When the discipline feels heavy, remind me of the harvest.
Teach me to persevere without pride and without despair.
Strengthen me for today.
And carry me through this holy season with quiet faithfulness.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,
Amen.
